Kimberly Klein, DDS D-ABDSM
Diplomate of the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine
Dr. Kimberly Klein received her DDS degree from New York University College of Dentistry in 2008. As a California native she moved back to Los Angeles to pursue the prestigious General Practice Residency at UCLA in Hospital Dentistry. After completing her residency she was honored with an attending position to train future residents.
For 13 years Dr. Klein focused on educating residents and dental students at both UCLA and USC in the art of treating special needs and medically compromised patients. At the same time she continued to work in private practice. While at UCLA she worked with residents in the hospital, trained and performed IV sedations and provided comprehensive clinical care alongside her residents. She worked closely with the cardiac teams at both UCLA and Kaiser Permanente to provide dental clearance prior to open heart surgery.
While at USC she ran the operating room for the Special Patient Care Clinic, taught clinical skills and was involved in testing competency of student’s abilities to treat special needs patients. In 2021 Dr. Klein and her husband decided to move their young family to the South Hills of Pittsburgh where her husband grew up. She loves her life in Pittsburgh and is grateful to have met Dr. Chenet at a continuing education course.
For Dr. Klein it has always been at the intersection of medicine and dentistry where she found her true calling. It was a Spear continuing education course on airway and the implications in dentistry that ignited her path to treat sleep apnea. From there she shifted the focus of her dental career. Dr. Klein completed the rigorous Mastery Program with the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine and achieved Diplomate status.
Dr. Klein is an active member of the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine, the American Dental Association, Pennsylvania Dental Association and Spear Education. When not in the office Dr. Klein enjoys spending time with her husband Greg and their daughters Samantha and Emma.
